We will be at the Subcontracting Fair from September 30th to October 2nd, 2025, stand D150!

Recirculate

The Recirculate project addresses the most pressing challenges facing the European battery recycling sector and battery logistics. The main objective of the project is to improve the efficiency of battery repair, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling. Our task is to integrate and test an AI-based, robotised electric car batteries dismantling and sorting system.

Recirculate

In the Recirculate project, eleven partners from different countries are working together to address the key challenges facing the battery recycling sector by combining advanced technologies. For example, artificial intelligence will be used for automated dismantling and smart logistics solutions for the safe storage and transport of batteries and battery materials. Blockchain technology will be used to track key battery data and battery location.

Virtual marketplace

The virtual marketplace will enable the creation of new circular business models for the repair, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling of used batteries. This will minimise costs, time, energy and environmental impact while maximising the value of batteries.

Funding: The European Union has provided €4.9 million in funding for the project.
Duration: 1.5.2023- 30.4.2026
Financed by: HORIZON-CL5-2022-D2-01-10

Recirculate Deliverable 2.4 video

This video demonstrates Deliverable 2.4 of the Recirculate project, focusing on the validation of a robotized disassembly and sorting (D&S) system for end-of-life electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

The demonstration highlights the module-to-cell disassembly process in an industrially relevant environment, implemented at Centria University of Applied Sciences. It also presents a simulation of a future, full-scale disassembly line built from modular, container-based units.

The system combines industrial robotics, machine vision, and AI-powered control algorithms to enable safe, efficient, and automated battery recycling.
